Well it looks like this weekend and possibly throughout next week will be the finish of our PYO Apricots for the Season..??
It has been a funny old week.….what with heavy continual rain for 3 days in a row and then sunshine, something we haven’t seen much of this summer!! ?☔️☔️?☀️
Nectarines are not ripe enough for PYO this weekend so it looks like they will start on Monday….oh joy… another disappointment…for us and everyone else.
But if you are coming up this weekend, there are nectarines at other Fruit Stalls throughout the valley ?
Our Stall is fully stocked with 2nd grade boxes of apricots and also Black Amber and Billington plums.
Black Amber are a yellow/reddish plum which are great for eating and jam.
Billington plums are in plentiful supply and are great for eating and sauce.
Still have the Shiro plums available as well….lovely for eating and making jam ?

After a couple of nasty days of atrocious weather ????I am pleased to announce we have survived what nature chucked at us…….nerves are a bit fraught though ???

Starting from tomorrow PYO will be back on track so the Moorparks and Stevens Favourite will be all go ☺️
The nectarines are still a few days away – will keep you posted ?
Black Amber plums will be on the Stall as from tomorrow as will Billington and Shiro plums.
Black Amber are yellow flesh and delicious, Billington are red flesh and are great for eating or sauce/bottling and Shiro are yellow flesh and great for eating and making jam.
To our Southland customers we should still have PYO apricots from the weekend onwards, but if we don’t have them I will be able to send you to other Fruit Stalls who will definitely have them. You will not miss out ☺️
So very sad for all you guys affected by the flooding….words simply cannot express how we feel ??<3 <3

Fruit update ??

Well what a day we have all had!!
Finally the weather forecast was correct….we did indeed have rain and plenty of it! ☔☔?️?️??

Had a busy day with PYO Moorparks – it’s been absolutely wonderful catching up with so many people I have known since I was little ?

There’s still plenty of Roxburgh Red and Moorpark apricots out there on the trees and heaps of apricots on the Stall who don’t want to pick their own.
PYO Stevens Favourite apricots starts on Tuesday ? the second lot of PYO nectarines could possibly be starting next weekend – will keep you posted.
The plums are lagging behind ?☺️ but we have Shiro plums which are yellow flesh and great for eating and jam. Billington plums will be on the Stall sometime this week ☺️
The last apricot courier orders for the season go out on Monday as Thursday is Waitangi Day, hence we can’t send on Tuesday or Wednesday ?

Fruit Update

Still some PYO Sundrops available and the PYO Roxburgh Red started today – the trees are loaded so grab your buckets, bags, etc and come on up. ?
PYO Moorparks will commence this Saturday.
PYO Nectarines, which started today, have been well truly picked over by many, many people ?? There are still some on the trees but for those who want a larger amount the good news is the 2nd variety is only about a week away. Will keep you updated ?

We still have the last of the Sundrops on the trees for PYO and on Wednesday we start PYO Roxburgh Red and Nectarines.
This variety of nectarines will only last for a few days but our next variety is due in about a weeks time – will keep you updated ?
PYO Moorparks will be starting this coming Saturday (the 1st of February) �This intense heat has brought everything on in a bit of a rush! ???
We have Shiro plums on the Stall at the moment and Billington plums are a few days away. �We also have Peeka, Valley Gold and Sundrop apricots on the Stall in 1st and 2nd grade boxes ?
Stevens Favourite apricots are still a few days away.

PYO Sundrops are still in full swing – plenty on the trees – but this will be the last weekend of picking this variety.

With all this gorgeous hot weather we have been having it looks like the first variety of PYO Nectarines and PYO Roxburgh Red will be starting next Wednesday the 29th ??
This variety of PYO Nectarines usually only lasts for a few days but don’t worry if you miss out – our next variety will be ready in approx 2 weeks time ?

PYO Roxburgh Red and PYO Nectarines will not be available this weekend as they will not be ripe enough. At this stage it will be the following weekend ? Will keep you updated.
Plenty of Sundrop apricots on the trees for PYO & every day we have freshly picked 1st grade and 2nd grade boxes of Sundrops on the Stall ?
Moorpark and Stevens Favourite apricots are 2 weeks away.
Peeka and Valley Gold apricots will be available on the Stall from next week ?
We also have a limited amount of Diamond Bright nectarines available on the Stall. Bit of a crazy season with the ripening dates out of wack! ???

Quick fruit update ?

Plenty of boxed 1st grade and 2nd grade of Sundrop apricots on the Stall and also plenty on the trees for PYO ? We will have them for another week and hopefully the Roxburgh Red and Valley Gold will be available next weekend for PYO.

Will let you know….Moorparks are still a good two weeks away or possibly longer.
