January 4

A big day on the Fruit Stall!
The ‘Earli Ril’ apricots are very popular for bottling, freezing, stewing and also for sauce and jam.Β πŸ™‚
Our cherries finished for the season today as we had a huge rush on them this morning and we were completely cleaned out by noon.

If we get the promised heat, PYO Sundrops will start this Saturday.
Will keep you posted. πŸ˜‰
The Early Wilson plums are not early this season!
For reasons unknown, the little blighters are very slow to ripen this year.
We have a great crop of them so to all you plum lovers, patience please.Β πŸ˜‰Β

On another note, I know the Sundrops are nearly ready because the birds are pecking them at the tops of the trees!!
Lucky for us Big Bertha will now be able to focus her full attention on the protecting our apricot crop. πŸ™‚

January 3 Fruit Update

Today was our first day of apricots and the ‘Earli Ril’ have been flying out the door!
We’ve got a great crop of them this year so there is plenty for everyone.
They are on the Stall in 3kg boxes for $10 and 6kg boxes for $18.
We also have Lapin cherries available in 1kg punnets for $8.
The cherries have just about finished and we expect to be finished them by Wednesday.
We had some rain today which slightly slowed down the ripening process of the ‘Sundrop’ apricots but we are still hoping for a start date of 9 January for PYO.
The PYO nectarines are still a couple of weeks away.
Early Wilson plums are about ten days away.
Will keep you posted.

3 January

‘Earli Ril’ apricots are on the Fruit Stall as from today. πŸ™‚
The heat yesterday brought them on quicker than anticipated πŸ˜‰

We are selling them in 3kg boxes for $10 and 6kg boxes for $18.
The fruit is at the ideal stage for bottling, freezing, jam, stewing, etc :).
Remember firm apricots are the best for jam making as they guarantee a good set everytime. πŸ™‚

We still have Lapin and Margaret cherries available in 1kg punnets for $8 πŸ™‚

β€˜Sundrop’ apricots should start in a few days with PYO hopefully starting on 9 January.
Will keep you posted.

1 January 2016

This weekend on the Stall we have Lapin and Margaret cherries in 1kg punnets for $8 πŸ™‚
No apricots just yet as even though they look nice and orange on the tree they are still a few days away yet.
We could pick them now and they’d look great but they just wouldn’t be edible and we NEVER sell unripe fruit πŸ™‚
PYO apricots are still on track to start on January 9 and we should have some Earli Ril and Sundrop apricots on the Stall around next Wednesday πŸ™‚
Stay tuned for more info πŸ˜‰

P.S… Here’s me having a late afternoon siesta after a long day of picking cherries, obviously dreaming of the ripening apricots πŸ˜‰

28 December

Another very hot day! I can hear the fruit ripening as I write. πŸ˜‰
Once the temperature goes down, I will be cranking up β€œLittle Toot” to give the trees a well deserved drink as they need it after all this recent extreme heat!

On the Stall we have Stella cherries ($8/kg) and freshly dug new spuds ($5 per 2kg bag). πŸ™‚
It looks like we’ll have ‘Earli Ril’ apricots (old variety) available on the Stall from January 4 and PYO β€˜Sundrop’ apricots should start around January 9. πŸ™‚
