December 22
Despite the overcast and drizzly weather our cherries have ripened up so we now have them available on the Stall in 1kg punnets for $10 🙂
????????????????
We expect our first apricots to be available from the first week of January and the first of our nectarines should be ready around January 10.
PYO apricots should start around January 10 but will keep you posted if it’s earlier.
?????????????
Our nectarine crop has been saved from annihilation at the hands of Starlings thanks to Captain Jack our new birdscarer.
Meanwhile up in the cherry block Big Bertha continues to repel wave after wave of enemy attacks 😉
We are forever in their debt 😉????
Cherry Update
????Cherry Update: Due to some less than ideal ripening weather (rain and cloud) we won’t be having cherries available on the Stall until Saturday December 22. But don’t worry, once they are ripe and ready to go we will have a plentiful supply! 🙂 ??????
7 December
The recent ‘unkind’ weather has wiped out our Early Cherries but the early “Liseta” spuds enjoyed the extra rain and are looking and tasting great so as from tomorrow the Fruit Stall is open for the Season and they will be on the Stall in 2kg boxes @ $5-00 a box.
Remember our hours are… 7am – 9pm, 7 days a week from tomorrow until June. 🙂
The Stall will be stocked with freshly dug spuds each day but if you have a large order then you can txt or ring Ruby on 027 288 6090 the day before or give her a couple of hours notice and she will have them ready for you. 🙂
The Dawson cherries are looking good on the trees.
Big Bertha and our protective netting are keeping the birds off them.
They should be ready in the week building up to Xmas.
The ‘cheeky’ Blackbirds and Starlings have now started pecking the Nectarine crop so we were forced to purchase another Bird Scarer so as to scare the little blighters away.
‘Captain Jack’ is his name. ??
‘Big Bertha’ wasn’t happy about his arrival but once we reassured her that he is only going to protect the Nectarine Block, she settled down rather quickly. 😉

28 November
We decided it was time for a “new look” entrance to our Fruit Stall. We hope you like it. ☺️
Sadly the early cherries took a hammering during last week’s downpour so we now won’t be opening until 10 December, when we will have new spuds. ?
The next variety of cherries should be ready about the same time 🙂
?
Will keep you posted 🙂
20 November
The rain started yesterday and hasn’t let up yet. ?
Wee bit of flooding here but thankfully it’s only in the middle of the Orchard and won’t cause any damage to the trees/fruit.
I didn’t venture out any further as it’s rather deep in parts and I didn’t have my water wings with me….. ???
Henny-Penny isn’t impressed either so has made the back deck her home of choice for the afternoon.
