Ruby has been busy the past couple of days digging the last of our spuds to keep us fed over winterΒ π
She may be tiny but boy can she dig. π
April 18
Quinces have finished for the Season.
We still have heaps of Red Delicious apples and Braeburn apples on the Stall. π
10kg bags for $12 and 5kg bags for $6.

In between picking apples today Ruby and our family friend Naomi spent some time collecting pine cones from under the Douglas Fir trees.Β βΊΒ Gotta have a good supply of them for lighting the fires in winter. It’s not far away!!Β ?
7 April
Quinces will be on the Stall from Saturday.Β π
A good amount of pre-orders will be sent out early next week with the rest later in the week.

Quince Jelly is delicious as is Quince Jam.Β π
And bottled quinces are very popular as they turn pink during processing.
Or cook up a big pot of quinces and your family will be impressed when they open the fridge door.
Great with breakfast cereal or with chocolate custard.
Quinces are not eaten raw as the flesh is very hard and sour, however, cooking softens the flesh and transforms the taste to a cross between an apple and a pear.
Braeburn apples are on the go now.
Crunchy Royal Gala and Red Delicious are still being picked so you havenβt missed out on them.

First pick of Braeburn apples today.
They have a delicious, crisp, juicy flesh and are a great eating and cooking apple.
They are also excellent keepers. π
Great for crumbles, pies, muffins and any other recipe that requires an apple. π
Stewed apples and custard is an easy dessert.
A lot of my mates stew up a pot full of apples and have them with store bought custard.
Those more adventurous make a simple custard from scratch.

We also have Red Delicious apples on the Stall as well.
They are nice and crunchy with a lovely red skin.
Royal Gala are still available and are lovely and sweet and a hit with the kids.
All apples are in 10kg bags for $12 and 5kg bags for $6. π

Royal Gala are a lovely eating apple and Golden Delicious are a brilliant eating and cooking apple.
Braeburn and Granny Smith are still a couple of weeks away. π
